Build a Life & Justice Committee at Your Parish. Great tips in how to form a Life & Justice committee at your parish, including a guide called “Seven Habits of Highly Effective Social Justice Committees.”

USCCB Action Center. Sign up with your email address and the USCCB will send you notices about urgent legislative policy campaigns. Send a quick email to your lawmakers in Washington urging them to pass legislation that upholds human life and dignity.

Free Rice. Answer trivia questions. For each correct answer, the UN’s World Food Programme will donate 10 grains of rice to help end hunger (funded by advertisements on the site). Great for individual use, or create a group of friends.

Justice for Immigrants Campaign. Sign an e-postcard advocating for comprehensive immigration reform and learn about the Catholic Church’s position on this key issue.

Kiva: Make a Loan to an Aspiring Entrepreneur. A great new way to do philanthropy:  pick someone in the developing world with a business plan. See a picture of him or her, and read their story. Then, make a $25 loan, which will be pooled with other’s loans. Over time, you’ll hear updates and your loan will be paid back. Great group project for a small faith community, or Confirmation students/sponsors.

Good Counsel Homes. Good Counsel runs a home for homeless, expectant mothers in Riverside, NJ — supported by the Dioceses of Camden and Trenton. Donations are needed to help this essential ministry live their mission.
