Sister Jean’s Soup KitchenThe Friends of Jean Webster, Inc., supports the work of “Sister” Jean and her staff and volunteers. Every day, Monday to Friday, they serve breakfast and lunch to 400-600 guests at the Victory First Presbyterian Church, 1013 Pacific Ave., in Atlantic City. No one is turned away. Volunteers are always welcome as are donations of equipment, clothing, food and cash.

Covenant House, New Jersey. Covenant House is the largest privately funded organization in New Jersey addressing the needs of homeless youth. Mission Statement: We who recognize God’s providence and fidelity to his people are dedicated to living out his covenant among ourselves and those children we serve, with absolute respect and unconditional love. That commitment calls us to serve suffering children of the street, and to protect and safeguard all children. Just as Christ in his humanity is the visible sign of God’s presence among his people, so our efforts together in the covenant community are a visible sign that effects the presence of God, working through the Holy Spirit among ourselves and our kids.

United Way of Atlantic County. United Way of Atlantic County serves the needs of our local community, as defined by our residents, agencies, advocates, volunteers and leaders. United Way targets core areas of need and mobilizes resources. United Way serves as a catalyst for community advancement by connecting a diverse set of individuals, institutions and organizations to research, identify and implement problem-solving initiatives within our local community. United Way facilitates these activities and objectives by providing financial support through various fund-raising efforts and grant opportunities.
