Mission Statement: The Atlantic City Rescue Mission is set apart by the Spirit of God to preach the Gospel and meet the physical, emotional and other basic needs (through the provision of shelter, clothing, food, counseling, referral and structured programs) of the poor and those who are bound and bruised by addictive lifestyles in Atlantic City and the surrounding communities. Service opportunities for individuals and groups, including youth.

Community Food Bank of New Jersey.  Mission Statement: Our mission is to fight hunger and poverty in New Jersey by assisting those in need and seeking long-term solutions.  We will engage, educate, and empower all sectors of society in the battle. We fill the emptiness caused by hunger with FOOD, HELP, and HOPE.

Sister Jean’s Soup KitchenThe Friends of Jean Webster, Inc., supports the work of “Sister” Jean and her staff and volunteers. Every day, Monday to Friday, they serve breakfast and lunch to 400-600 guests at the Victory First Presbyterian Church, 1013 Pacific Ave., in Atlantic City. No one is turned away. Volunteers are always welcome as are donations of equipment, clothing, food and cash.

Covenant House, New Jersey. Covenant House is the largest privately funded organization in New Jersey addressing the needs of homeless youth. Mission Statement: We who recognize God’s providence and fidelity to his people are dedicated to living out his covenant among ourselves and those children we serve, with absolute respect and unconditional love. That commitment calls us to serve suffering children of the street, and to protect and safeguard all children. Just as Christ in his humanity is the visible sign of God’s presence among his people, so our efforts together in the covenant community are a visible sign that effects the presence of God, working through the Holy Spirit among ourselves and our kids.

United Way of Atlantic County. United Way of Atlantic County serves the needs of our local community, as defined by our residents, agencies, advocates, volunteers and leaders. United Way targets core areas of need and mobilizes resources. United Way serves as a catalyst for community advancement by connecting a diverse set of individuals, institutions and organizations to research, identify and implement problem-solving initiatives within our local community. United Way facilitates these activities and objectives by providing financial support through various fund-raising efforts and grant opportunities.
